There’s no better person to discuss Oregon’s mule deer populations and hunt area than Derek Broman, ODFW’s Game Program Manager. Broman will detail changes in the mule deer management plan to meet the changing population landscape. If you hunt muley’s, this is a session well-worth attending by one of the State’s foremost experts.

In a second session on Saturday, Derek is joined by Ashley Reeder who is ODFW’s Statewide CWD Coordinator to discuss the daunting challenge of CWD in their seminar: CWD And The Future Of Big Game In Oregon. Learn the measures that are being taken and what you can do to prevent the spread of this devastating disease to the State’s deer and elk populations.

Fish hatcheries are hotly discussed and debated around the Northwest. For the first time ever, the Central Oregon Sportsmen’s Show takes this topic head-on with ODFW’s Fish Division Administrator (the “Fish Chief”) whose job it is to manage the state’s fisheries. The title of this seminar should provide a glimpse into the agency’s stance, “Hatcheries & Anglers: A Legacy Worth Protecting”. Hear directly from the people whose job it is to manage hatcheries and their approach to hatchery management in Oregon. This is another in a long line of “don’t miss” sessions this year that are being introduced for the first time.
